Every other fidays, Subradio livestream their shows from a small screen printing shop in Raval, Barcelona.
The challenge: How to turn simply the space from a screen printing shop during the day to a techno livestream set at night?
The idea was to create a modular set that is easy to install/uninstall.
It was also important for me to nod to the location and screen printing process.
(= Screen printing is a printing process where is a mesh screen is used to transfer ink onto a textile /paper)
I took inspiration of the mesh screens used in the screen printing process and created 2 panels, mounted on chains:
- A large 9:16 one to project the visuals
- A smaller one with the logo, which is essentially a screen printing frame.
I added a LED light, allowing the stencil to be revealed by the different light effects (see below)
